Terms of Use
National Trades Survey Last updated: May 2026
Agreement
By accessing or using the National Trades Survey website and survey (“the Platform”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
The Platform is operated by National Trades Survey — an independent Australian workforce intelligence initiative operated via in-formius.au (“we”, “us”, “our”), an independently operated Australian initiative.
What the Platform is
The Platform provides a voluntary workforce survey about experiences in the Australian trades sector. Outputs are used to develop aggregated insights about patterns, pressures, and pathways — not to publish individual respondent dossiers.
The Platform is provided on an “as is” basis during its public phase. Features, questions, and availability may change.
Eligibility and appropriate use
You should:
- answer honestly to the best of your knowledge
- use the Platform for personal, lawful participation
- be at least 16 years old (or the age we specify on the site)
You must not:
- misuse the Platform, automate bulk submissions, or attempt to disrupt its operation
- submit unlawful, harassing, or deliberately false bulk responses
- access areas or data you are not authorised to use
We may take reasonable steps to protect the integrity of participation and the Platform.
No professional reliance
Survey results and any published summaries are informational and reflect voluntary participation. They are not professional advice (legal, financial, employment, safety, or medical). Do not rely on them as a substitute for qualified advice.
Anonymous survey participation
Survey answers
- You do not need an account to complete the core survey.
- You can finish without providing your name, email, or phone number.
- Answers are analysed in aggregate with other participants.
- We do not publicly associate identifiable contact details with individual survey answers.
- A completion reference code may be shown after you finish. It is a participant reference and share-attribution token — not your name or a government identity number.
Optional contact (separate choices)
After completing the survey, you may optionally provide contact details. These are separate choices with separate purposes:
- Reference receipt email — a one-time email with your completion reference. This does not opt you into future updates.
- Future findings / updates — only if you explicitly opt in on the completion page.
- Contributor recognition — a separate page for eligible sessions only.
Contact collection is separate from survey answer storage. Additional terms shown at the point of opt-in apply to that specific purpose.
Incentives (if offered) may be limited by geography, eligibility, and capacity. We do not guarantee that every participant will receive an incentive.
Privacy, analytics, and monitoring (Stage 1)
We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate website analytics (page visits and referral patterns). We do not send survey answers, contact details, session IDs, completion codes, or free-text responses to analytics providers.
We use Sentry for error monitoring and reliability. We do not intentionally send survey answers or contact details to Sentry.
We do not use Google Analytics (GA4), Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or advertising pixels in Stage 1.
Survey data is stored in Supabase. Transactional reference emails are sent via Resend when you request them. See our Privacy Policy and Data & Privacy pages for full detail.
Intellectual property
We own or license the Platform design, questions, software, and branding. You may not copy or redistribute substantial parts without permission.
You retain ownership of the words you submit in open-text fields. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to use submissions for aggregated analysis and publication of aggregate or anonymised insights derived from them — not to publish your verbatim comments with your name unless you separately consent.
Aggregated insights and commercial use
We may use aggregated survey results to:
- publish workforce summaries
- inform policy and industry discussions
- develop partner-supported briefings or tools
- improve the Platform
Commercial use will focus on insights, methods, and platform capabilities, not on selling identifiable respondent data or identifiable answer files.
Partner arrangements (when active) will be governed by separate agreements that restrict use to aggregate outputs.
Staff access
Certain areas of the Platform are for authorised operators only. Unauthorised access attempts may be refused and, where appropriate, reported.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:
- we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Platform
- our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to re-supply of the service where applicable under the Australian Consumer Law, except where liability cannot be excluded (including under the Australian Consumer Law)
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Platform or breach of these terms, except to the extent caused by our wrongful conduct.
Third-party services
The Platform uses third-party services to host, store, and operate the survey, including Vercel (hosting and aggregate web analytics), Supabase (database), Resend (transactional reference emails), and Sentry (error monitoring). Their terms and privacy practices apply to how they process data on our instructions.
We do not use Google Analytics (GA4), Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or advertising pixels in Stage 1.
Termination and suspension
We may suspend or block access if we reasonably believe you are abusing the Platform or harming other participants or the integrity of results.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Courts in that jurisdiction have non-exclusive jurisdiction unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
Future participation programmes
We may introduce optional participation credentials, early access programmes, or related tools. Such features:
- will be governed by additional terms presented at sign-up
- may be changed or discontinued
- do not create employment, partnership, or investment relationships with us unless explicitly stated in writing
Unless we clearly state otherwise in feature-specific terms:
- credentials are not financial products
- there is no promise of profit, token price, or market listing
- past survey participation does not guarantee future access benefits
Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after material changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
