National Trades Survey

Before the questions begin โ€” what this observatory is for and how your answers are used.

What this survey is for

This project is building a clearer picture of the real conditions, pathways, pressures, and opportunities across the trades and project workforce in Australia.

That includes people who are:

  • apprentices and people trying to start an apprenticeship
  • qualified tradespeople and operational / labour-force workers
  • supervisors and project coordination roles
  • business owners and employers
  • trainers and educators
  • supply chain and industry bodies
  • and people who have left trade work or follow the industry from outside

The goal is not to push an agenda or sell anything. It is to understand how people enter, work, stay, struggle, leave, and build long-term futures across the industry. Your answers are combined and reviewed in aggregate.

  • No contact required

You can complete the survey without your name, email, or phone. Optional contact steps are separate and only appear if you choose them.

  • Time to contribute

Most people take around 10โ€“15 minutes depending on role and how much optional detail they add. Nothing is submitted until you finish at the end.

  • Workforce research

Responses are combined and reviewed in aggregate for Australian trades insight.

  • No account required

We only ask for contact details if you opt in at the end.
